Here's what students are saying:
"I enjoy exercising with a fun and friendly group leaving me recharged and ready to face the rest of the week"
- Janet
"I had never done Tai Chi or Nia before. What a revelation! I love the control and focus that Tai Chi provides, whilst the freedom and joy of Nia provides me with an opportunity for free expression. Carolyn has fantastic knowledge of both disciplines and takes students through the class with poise and grace. She is passionate about her teaching and it shows! I can highly recommend both classes to all age groups - you won't be disappointed!"
- Lisa
"It gives Energies that are conflicted or locked up……. a release…. that leaves you feeling, balanced and confident, with a good burst of self-esteem……totalling…….a good self-observation of Well-Being."
- Ildiko
"Carolyn combines the joyous experience of exercising and having fun while infusing in her instruction the energised feeling of the natural surroundings in which her class takes place, where small, but meaningful connections soon develop within the group. Her skills as an instructor, her elegant movements and her friendliness convey the benefits of the practice in a seemingly effortless manner as the minutes glide by, leaving one feeling more attuned to body and mind!"
- Leticia
"It was a great gift to experience the abundant joy and exuberance that radiates through Carolyn as she shares her passion for Nia. This contribution was a such a perfect addition at our week-long Partner Yoga training. I highly recommend you experience Nia through Carolyn for yourself!"
- Elysabeth (Founder of Principle-Based Partner Yoga)
"I look forward very much to Nia classes with Carolyn. She gives you a very warm welcome and her enthusiasm for dance and movement is infectious. I always leave the class feeling uplifted, stretched, and full of energy and optimism.
I particularly appreciate Carolyn’s approach to Nia. There are steps and movements to follow, but you are free to find your own level, to move however feels right for you on that particular day. I like being given a structure but I also love being given room to explore my own, personal movement and creativity within the dance. There is never any pressure or criticism in the class. This means that anyone - however limited their prior experience of dance and movement - can join in with freedom and confidence.
I really enjoy Carolyn’s selection of music; I’m not one for loud pop or disco beat, but she offers music that is a joy to move too, whether it’s latin rhythms, upbeat tempos or something flowing and lyrical."
- Jenny (Life adventurer)
"I love the feeling of Nia dance. The movement is all encompassing for the body, mind and soul. It generates an overall current of wellbeing, is energising in its physicality without leaving that tired out feeling. Every class leaves me with the sense of a great workout and happily uplifted in spirit. All is made possible through the experience Carolyn brings to her classes and of course her ability to convey the moves to people of all ages and levels. Carolyn is infectious with her love of Nia and bubbly personality. What a great package!"
- Judi
"Carolyn embodies the Nia slogan ‘Joy of Movement’. I can’t help smiling when she demonstrates the next move and it looks so fun and is exactly why I have come to her class. I’m free to dance in a new way, explore my unknown and soak up Carolyn’s enthusiasm. I let go and go for it!"
- Alysha (Alexander Technique teacher)
"For me Nia is a wonderful 21st century mix of dance, martial arts, yoga and Carolyn's own magic. My fitness, agility & understanding of possibilities keep improving. I feel stronger than when I used to participate in triathalons and it always gets all of my 75 trillion cells smiling. Highly recommended!"
- Peter (Metallurgical Engineer & Nia White Belt Graduate)
"It's such a joy going for the NIA class conducted by Carolyn. I enjoy it so much and is always looking forward to the next session. It's a combination of everything I like! It's exercise at its best, since it's not boring and yet you get to workout and relax all at the same time. You can "tweak" the movement to what makes you feel most comfortable and enjoy. For those who have not tried, I'll highly recommend that you come in and give the lesson a go and see how you feel about it."
- Eunice (accountant)
“I found Nia very freeing and relaxing. Carolyn encouraged a fun, liberated and energetic approach. I am not a skilled dancer, but Carolyn helped me to find my own style and ‘go with it’!”
- Rachel (student/runner)
"As a newcomer to Nia dancing I found the class taken by Carolyn to be all I hoped for and more. It was fun, funky and a great way to exercise. Different and stimulating I thoroughly recommend the class!"
- Yvonne
"All in all I loved the fluidity and the music and the no impact and enjoyed feeling a bit puffed and sweaty - if you know what I mean!!"
- Kim (mother)
“I felt great for days!!”
